Director Tim Burton has been sued for fraud by his former lover, Lisa Marie, according to court documents obtained by PEOPLE.
In a suit filed Wednesday in Los Angeles Superior Court, Marie, who describes herself as an actress, model, artist, writer and photographer, claims that Burton owes her palimony from their 10-year relationship, and that after their split she’d settled for a lesser amount under false pretenses. She says she and the director, 48, began dating beginning around December 1991, and that when they began living together they agreed to combine their earnings, with Marie serving as Burton’s personal manager.
Actress Eva, 37, was seen laughing and smiling with 57-year-old Tim, as he walked with the help of a stick.
The beauty, who rose to fame in Bernardo Bertolucci's The Dreamers before starring in Casino Royale, was dressed in all-black for her outing, while carrying a jacket on her arm.
Burton even held secret talks with one of her close friends, a woman named Cherry Vanilla, in a plot to convince Marie to settle.
After making movies together for almost 20 years, Burton explained, the two men thrive on the very abstractness of their creative partnership.
"That's a sign of knowing somebody and connecting with somebody," he said. If I don't know who I am — this sounds like a bad therapy session — but I don't pretend to know anybody else.
The American film director, who enjoyed a 13-year relationship with the actress, was pictured with his arm around former Bond Girl Eva Green in London recently.
The pair enjoyed dinner at a Japanese restaurant and reportedly seemed in no hurry to get home, following the completion of their upcoming movie Miss Peregrine's Home For Peculiars.
